Untill the dice roll thing is up and running these are the only corportations you can buy shares in:
Republic Surplus - (RA)
New and Used Speeders and Parts - (NUSP)
Andian Tech Shop - (ATS)
Kamus Armaments - (KA)
The market value of a share is 5 Credits plus the value of that staore. The value increases by one for every 500C that store takes in. Each store has 1,000 Shares, and 501 of those belong to the owner so he has controll of the strore. the other 499 shares are on the market, and can be bought at their current market value.
The way to make money is to buy shares when they cheap and then sell them back to the market when they are worth alot of money. Below is the current coporations, how many shares are left on the market, and how much they are worth.
RS - 449 Shares left - 5C
NUSP - 449 Shares left - 5C
ATS - 319 Shares left - 48C
KA - 499 Shares left - 350,005C

he bought some stuff from me. the money he's getting back doesn't nearly cover the costs though.

I bought 2 freighters and some missile launchers from them. This means that their price has risen a lot, partially due to the fact the price was so low to start off with. You could complain that I have made money out of this.
But the price of the shares rises for every 500C revenue the store takes in. Therefor you need to sell 500 shares make the money that you spent, and I've rigged it so (Asside from the shop owners them selves) nobody can have more than 499 shares in any company. So if you try to make money out of spending it at a store, you will always make a loss.

499 shares of RS (It's RS right not RA because it is republic surplus) that would be 2,495 C (hostile takeover all i need are two shares and if i sell them alll well lets just say it wouldn't be nice)
